Simple question?

Arghhhhhhhh what to do.

Can go out tomorrow and get a MSI GTX570 new for £239, or one with a custom cooler (Palit/Gainward) from around £247-£269

That is not the case. If you read my thread i asked what is the best way to go with what i have?

People advised me to get another 5850 and an SSD.

I have read the reviews on the Sapphire 5850 Xtreme and they blow all comers away for the price. They destroy other cards twice the price in xfire.

Yes i have become a fan ;)

I did indeed read the thread.

I even contributed to it by showing you how you could get another 5850 and a Sandybridge upgrade for the same money you were planning on spending originally.

Anyhow, enjoy your new parts when they arrive.

I thought you didn't like the custom coolers as they usually expel hot air into the case?

A 580 is what, about 15% faster than a 570.

I suppose it depends if that's worth the extra cost to you.

Plus you get the extra VRAM which may come in handy.

Thanks for your advice. I will probably get a Sandybridge set up later on in the year.

I can carry my SSD and 5850's over to it so it is not money wasted now.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. Much appreciated :)

I suppose you have to weigh up what the "extras" are worth to you.

Reference 570 £239.

Another £8-£30 a 570 with custom cooling.

Another £50 a second hand reference 580 which is ~15% faster and has a bit more VRAM.
