Hi Guys, I’ve been out of the loop for a while now, but was thinking about upgrading my trusty setup.

I’ve currently got an intel 4690k with 16gb of 2400 MHz ram and went all out at the start of last year and got myself a rtx 2080. I noticed a massive increase in the speed and quality of the games I’ve been playing but I think it’s time the rest of the rig moved up to match the graphics card.

first let’s get the silly questions out of the way.

1. if I upgrade to a 3700x will I notice much of a performance increase in the games I’m playing? (Assassins creed series, far cry series, total war series and really looking forward to cyberpunk 2077) and vs2019 development along with being able to create virtual docker instances for different projects I’m working on in with python. I.e i know I’ll get an increase but is it worth the expenditure?

2. I’m looking at the case below due to height constraints, From what I can see, This should fit an x570 board along with my graphics card too shouldn’t it? But the main question I have with this is will I experience any issues setting the case up on its side rather than as a tower

3. Sound is also an issue to me, is the stock cooler on the 3700x quiet under average load, Or am I best upgrading to an aftermarket cooler?

so something like the following....

YOUR BASKET

Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black 32GB (2x16GB) 3...

Case will fit the motherboard and GPU, if it's a standard 267mm version, as max length GPU for that case is 300mm. The AMD cooler is ok, but if you are sensitive to sound, like you are saying, then get an aftermarket unit.

Brill thanks guys, so that looks like a good 50-80% increase and should make the games I’m after more playable.

thanks for checking the case. It’s nice to get a second opinion to make sure it will fit ok.
