sims 3 question about cd key thingy that EA do

i vaguely recall EA issuing a set amount of licenses when you buy this. what i want to know is when you put it on a new machine does it deactivate the old one? i wanna know if i put it on my PC, if it will deactivate the one of my GF's laptop. because that could be tedious when swapping back and forth.

My sister got it on two PCs. Didn't need to do anything special.

There's an option to de-authorise a machine from the launcher. I think that's there's a limt but there shouldn't be a problem on a couple of machines. It certainly shouldn't de-authorise one automatically. Not that I play the sims! My er, sister plays it and she told me or something
