I guess as the title suggests really. I bought a new OS drive in the form of a Samsung F3 500GB & then now use my two Samsung F1 1TB drives as media drives for iTunes Library, Fil's, Pictures & Documents.
All software is obviously installed on the 500GB OS Drive. However one thing I have noticed is that my system seems really really laggy at the minute. Have a wireless mouse & keyboard that worked fine when I had just the two Samsung F1's in a similar solution (i.e one as OS & one as a media drive). I only changed so I could use one of the F1's as a backup drive (which I am yet to set up).
But its hard to type now & likewise select anything with the mouse as it just skips around the screen most of the time. Both peripherals have new batteries & latest drivers installed so have no idea what it could be.
Sometimes when I select media from the secondary drive it takes around 10 seconds to display say a small .gif / jpeg for instance. So I wonder if the drive going to sleep / waking up all the time is disrupting something? Maybe there is a setting that I need to change in my BIOS regards to having so many hard drives now? I'm PC savvy but don't really have a great deal of experience with multi hard drive setup's I'm sorry.
But any help would be greatly appreciated as despite having many of the latest components, my rig is running like a dog at the minute & its driving me mad.
Many thanks
Nathan
