If he's in any doubt he shouldn't even do that. I get that he wants to get back in the car ASAP, but it seems he's not ready. Especially for what's just about the most demanding race for the drivers physically due to the heat, humidity and the fact that the circuit is so slow and so long that the race normally lasts about 1 3/4 hours.

Yeah, I think the FIA needs to be more serious about drivers getting in the car when injured and ill. One it's crap for the audience when a driver is ill or injured and drives, it also takes away opportunities from reserve drivers. Often they leave it until the last minute, FP3, or even qualy, which means when they do sit it out, either the replacement had no time, or can't race because they didn't take part in qualy.

Anything more than a common cold or minor injury and they should be forced to sit out, no exceptions.

Results in fp1 are not a reflection of where the cars will qualify. Different fuel levels and engine modes are being used and the conditions are nowhere near where they'll be in qualifying...

I missed the part where they explained the laser scanner. Who decided this was required? The FIA or the team?
Bit grim to miss this much of practice for laser scanning.

Edit: "Sound FX Lap - Audio up"
I never really get this. These cars still sound rubbish.

Crofty saying "come on, get out there", why the hell would they?

I'd say I'd like to see some.rain for this race but they'd immediately red flag it, then run the remainder of the race behind the safety car hours later.
