Single player free roam massive world games

i know u mentioned single player games but all MMOs got single player side to them and massive worlds to explore

just a thought ;)

Godfather was terrible just like the films.
Spiderman 3 hmm might be fun.
Transformers i duno.
Deepshadows might have gotten a different publisher to do Precursors (didnt check myself if they have or not tho) or maybe they learned their lesson with bp and to take more time for bug hunting and polish. Game looks mint tho form trailers.

Driver hmm duno well see, the first one i couldnt play cos i couldnt do them parking lot stunts i.e 180 spin so couldnt even start the damn game. :(

there isnt anymore free-form roaming realistic games out there. :(
(if there was i'd be playing it :D)

Would love to see a 1st person sci-fi free roaming game. A mix of deus-ex, morrwind, neocron(for its atmosphere only), blade runner etc :D

How can you say that .
Godfather the game wasn't terrible, it just wasn't that good...
The first godfather film is the god of all films though, one of the few films about the past where stuff looks like the past and not some new rubbish.

Just cause: The idea is good, some elements are awesome, but it's ruined by one thing ( which is a shame), terrible driving and bike riding.
If they at least made cars handle as in gta games, then it would be the game of the year I recon.

There's scarface, but it too isn't that good really, a kind of lame console port...

Tbh pc doesn't have much of that genre, the best option is to get a 360 and GTA iv for you skeet I recon, I know you don't have the money but that's the only really good choice since IV is awesome according to everyone I speak and you love gta so...

Anyone remember Mercenary/Damocles?

Amazing at the time! I think The Outsider will be good when that comes out, done by David Braben and he knows a thing or two about free roaming, Elite IV will be the one for me though (hopefully you will be able to walk around and use vehicles etc)

Old games on Random formats? The first 3D open world free roaming game I played was Hunter on the Amiga. Never did figure out what I was supposed to be doing in that one. Great fun though.

I've played and completed fable. Its not a proper sandbox game. Follows your normal RPG basic elements, quests, bosses, tournaments etc. Doubt he'll like it as he wants something very similar to GTA. Fun game though. The fighting system is basic but very easy to master. The system is similar to devil may cry. Graphics aren't amazing but still very easy on the eye for a slightly older game now and runs perfectly in any fight I found.

The whole gimmick of choosing your path of good or bad isn't as amazing as the game may suggest.

Bah, beat me to it. I was reading through the whole thread to see if anyone had mentioned it!

Spent hours roaming around on that one, or riding a bike, getting eaten by sharks, crashing helicopters etc... Ah thems were the days.

I have an amiga emulator somewhere. Will have to give Hunter another go at some point. Unfortunately it doesn't run on the A1200, as I still have one in the loft.
