Single player game recommendations

Having upgraded my PC recently I'm looking for some game recommendations.

Sniper Elite 4

Give the Uncharted games a go, I expect they'll be exactly what you are looking for.
I only played the Legacy of Thieves collection, but as someone who really enjoyed Tomb Raider, Uncharted was fantastic.

How about the Dishonored games. You can play through with stealth or go hack and slash.

Son loves these.

All 3 of the Bioshock Remastered games are worth a look, Doom 2016, Doom Eternal and Doom Dark Ages. And for something a little different, Elden Ring and Clair Obscure Expedition 33 (<< a must have). And another shout out for the Horizon Zero Dawn games.

Bioshock games are good, I particularly enjoyed Infinite and loved the ending especially.

5 is also good. Not played Resistance but much the same as 5 I believe.

Crysis games, any id game, Wolfenstein games, Borderlands games, Metro games.

Always thought of the Doom series as having too many bullet sink enemies, but it's that misjudged?

Atomic Heart especially if you do all the 'hidden' puzzle areas, not a super long game with some fun shooting mechanics.

Not sure I'd class them as bullet sponges, but you do need to hit crit points to negate armour or similar and there's a lot of fast passed movement, especially in the likes of Doom Eternal. I've thoroughly enjoyed the newer Doom games, but some might find them too frantic and fast paced.

Not played Resistance but much the same as 5 I believe.

Under no circumstance play Resistance, it's ******* dreadful.
It's not even worthy of being Sniper 5 DLC (which it pretty much is).
If you really like self-flagellation, then go for it, or play Starfield, both are utter garbage.

Yeah I've played them both a few times. Love all of Valves first person games.

Portal 2 is a ******* masterpiece. Worth a play through without a doubt.

There have been lots of solid recommendations already. The Gears of War series is another good playthrough.

STALKER GAMMA is completely free and brilliant. You can even get it from GOG as a one click download.

Lots of free community made maps you can play and some are as good/better than the actual game.

That may or may not be a good thing re hours. I know I prefer shorter games now. Good value though undeniably.

True. Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a perfect example of this.

Yep. Want to replay that at some point. Completed that at least 2-3 times. Great game. Then the devs decided to make rubbish games after that and then got shut down. Shame

I've really been enjoying Escape from Duckov.

It's 100% not my normal bag, and my first extraction shooter. Loads of fun, quite chill if you want it to be. Progress at your own speed.

I just picked up the Max Payne trilogy (complete edition) from Steam. On sale for £11.68 at the moment.
