Single Player RPG

Diablo2 is hard to beat for simple "pick-up-and-play" carnage and looting. Also splendid in co-op mode if you can hook up with a mate. They've still yet to beat its elegant simplicity and insane addictiveness. Sacred and Titan Quest are similar (and very good) but I would always recommend D2 above them.

The only problem with Sacred is there's a lot of running, and stuff in towns is pretty close together so running gets very annoying sometimes (you sometimes run for miles and then realise it's the wrong way because you missed the turning that was practically invisible on the map :p). Other than that it's very good.

think i have decided for diablo 2 and fable, pretty sure ive got the first NWN at home so will get the above 2 me thinks :)

if i get diablo 2 would it be worth getting the addons as well? :)

Forgot about Temple of Elemental Evil - was almost unplayably buggy when it was released, but it's been fan patched to the point where it's a really good party based rpg. Combat is cool in it too, much more tactical than the BG type games.

Yes make sure you get the LoD expansion pack for D2.

I'm not sure how Fable will run on a laptop mind - it's a fairly modern game.

It is not a RPG, it is a first person action game and yes it is going to rock.

Just to be argumentative, its a game and you are playing a role, so it is an RPG! :p But I do see your point!
