Fallout 2 is probably my favourite RPG of all time. Big Guns, hookers, slaves, drugs, awesome plot and an awesome turn based combat system.

Well, between NWN (with expansions) and KOTOR you'll be busy for a long, long time. I've been playing NWN recently with some friends and it was brilliant. Can't wait for NWN2.

Don't forget Diablo 1. It may be old but it's still seriously good fun and very atmospheric.

Final Fantasy 7. Close to perfect gaming, IMO.

Also Deus Ex, and if Diablo 2 were an RPG I'd recommend Diablo 2 Morrowind is in 2 for £10 in Game now, incidentally.

are there any RPG games you can play offline, but then play ONLINE with the same offline character to party level or get new items?

I accidentally deleted my Titan Quest save 30 hours or so gameplay lost. Its a big game.

I was going to post something similar. I used to love old console RPGs but I haven't caught on to PC RPG's. Every RPG I've played on the PC never gets played through. Maybe I need to be a bit more patient or maybe I just need a few hours to play games every day.

Saying that I did play Kotor through and played Kotor 2 at the beggining untill I lost my save and cba to do the first planet again.

Sorry, yes KotOR should be in there. 1 is definitely better, but they are both amazingly good. Fond memories of them thinking about it now, probably should play them again.

And Diablo 2 is only really good online (damn game, stole a large chunk of my life). Diablo 1 might be a laugh, will look into that.

Another vote for Planescape Torment.

If you've got a beefy enough lappy you could do worse than lose yourself in Morrowind.

Go on the hunt for Planescape Torment, if you can handle the graphics you will find yourself in the best RPG of recent years.

well ive been playing NWN for a day or 2 now, started again about 5 times just to try different classes out, heading towards a strong quick human fighter i think after reading a few guides on the net
