Single SATA port, so need external solution (firewire/usb)

I am only taking my Acer L3600 to the USA with me and it may be my only PC for a while until I get myself on my feet. It only has 1 sata port, which the main SSD is hooked into a present, and I want to run my 1TB SATA WD Caviar Black drive externally. I can do this via firewire 400 (rear panel) or USB (rear).

I need some good but cheap recommendations, or an alternative I haven't considered (like ethernet, but I cannot afford a NAS - ironically I just sold one, but that was before I had the L3600 to take).

A cheap usb external enclosure of eBay would probably be best, powered ones are what you should look for that come with their own power bricks
