How come to tell if a chain has stretched you measure 12 links.....and if its longer than 12" by an 1/8th of an inch its stretched. Thats what ive been told anyway. :confused:

Sorry...depends on the terminology you use for something getting longer :o

Been very tempted to go for SS, borrowed one for a couple of 24 hour races a while back it its mental! I'm rubbish at climbing and SS just forces you to boot it!

On the topic of fixed wheel, I had a quick play on a mates after a skinfull on Friday night, that was enough to convince me its a bad idea.

A couple of my pals are doing the Strathpuffer 24hr, I sort of wish I had a second bike to be able to do it. Well that's my excuse. :o
