Singularity

I've tried the deadlock method and LB to attract other ticks to the one you hit but still I get caught by them. If and when i make it to the tunnel I get the ones infront of me and the ones behind spawn and keep taking me out as I'm healing.

Gutted I can't knock it down a level, I'm halfway through the game and won't bother restarting. I was really enjoying it, I will give it one more go then send it back :(

How odd!

I am at the exact same place as you, I played it a week ago or so, got to this point and gave up (im playing on the hardest setting). Finished Alan wake earlier, watched superbad (love that film) and am about to give this another crack!

I have watched a vid on youtube, gives a little idea on the best way, but I think it is simply trial and error.

Good luck! Wish me some as well.

Yeah even in that vid he has lots of luck, he doesn't actually kill that many of them, he gets lucky that he can heal without two exploding on him.

Had a few more goes, given up. It can go back :)

JUST DID IT!!! First time.

I used my singularity device on all the orange boils on the walls, not all of them due to some being art and not interactive. Then went round, picked up all ammo, and health, put them at the back of the room (where you turn the wheel to open the volt doors), once you are ready. Turn the wheel, and spam your singularity device on the spores as soon as they come through, repeat this and shoot off the remaining spores. Remember to use the device on the remaining boils in the corridor on the way out as you will encounter more. Remember to heal.

Well done, I did that with the spores the first time. It makes little difference though because they regen. Nice one you have more patience than me. If I could knock the level down I would, sadly it doesn't have that feature.

Once I figured out the ticks at that bit it was pretty easy (on hard).

Hold R3, throw it down before they get to you and sit inside, then shoot them all when they're stuck in the edge of the bubble. Every 15 secs or so, do another bubble and throw it down before the old one vanishes.
That video looks about 100 x more hard work than doing it my way.

I have just done my first 'boss'... The huge thing that looks like it was copy and pasted out of HL2 lol. On the train bridge :D AWSOME!

Loving it now. That stealth part in the sewers past those creatures had me clenched until I realised you could cuddle up to them so long as you don't run lol.

Feels like the game has suddenly come into it's own! Although, the whole being with someone, then you falling behind/falling in a hole/getting trapped find your way objective is getting pretty boring. Either I'm on my own, or I'm not. Don't want this tease of coop play when simply put, there is me and some retard aI with super human strength with the best luck in the world. Lucky she has a nice arse as it seems I'm always catching up with her, not vise versa.

such an atmospheric game.
creeping along those tunnels waiting to see if anything jumps out at you
while listening to the brilliant background music.
GOTY 2010 for me so far. :)

It is a great game, I had it on PC got so far then got rid of that due to sloppy game code and textures not loading basically spoiling the experience. Got it on 360 now and playing through it again. The weird thing is I generally don't like going through games again but with this I am looking forward to certain parts again, one such experience is the gun with controlable bullets - awesome.

I honestly put this game on par with Batman AA which I also played through again. It is a great experience and well worth a go if you have not played it before. It is a cross between Bioshock, Half Life with a bit of MGS thrown in for good measure lol.

It is a great game but putting it on a par with Batman is a bit of a stretch. The (only real) problem with Singularity is that it's 'like' a lot of other games. Awesome game to blast through and be reminded of some of your favourite gaming moments (in half life 2 and bioshock etc) but it's not a keeper and it's not original.

Batman:AA is a keeper and feels very fresh and original. I will add that this is all in my own opinion :p

One thing utterly ruins this game for me....the ******* phase ticks. Probably the worst enemy in a game ever. Cheap and boring.

Yep I quit playing the game after getting stuck on hard with them. I will replay it one day on an easier level. I just didn't have the heart to start again so soon after getting frustrated.

Been enjoying this game but now stuck, on the bridge level with the large monster and just can't beat him. I know what needs to be done but keep getting killed and it's so frustrating having to re-select weapons and pick up ammo each time round (why doesn't this game have a quick save!). Also playing it on hard and don't have the option to drop it down a level. :(

Wahoo finally got past that flippin bridge boss. For those commenting on the phase ticks I'm wondering if I'm going to see more of them in later levels as so far I've found them fairly easy to deal with.
