Sinister Twin.

Ugh.

Well I would like to say that last night was full of pleasures. Sadly it wasn't. It was a complete pig.

So the first thing to do was find the RGB splitter cable I bought. Could I find it? could I F. I spent two hours looking and then at 9pm I gave up. Packed everything away after running up and down the stairs several times. I was peed. Like, mega peed. I've not wanted to smash something in years but god it was close.

Sat down on my chair, pulled the bin over to put something in it there it is the C word. Ugh. 9pm get everything back out. Fitted the cooler realised a wire had come disconnected. Took cooler back out, replace wire. Do this three more times (wires kept getting caught so it was cooler out AGAIN) and then put the rig on the desk. I was hoping things would improve but NOPE.

Turned it on, noticed immediately none of the RGB was working apart from the NVME cooler. Whatever, decided to ignore it for the time being. Installed Windows, went somewhat OK. Got into Windows, started installing drivers. Got most of them on before installing the software for the LED screen (cooler). It didn't work. Nothing, nada. Spent two hours trying to figure it out, realised I had V1 which uses totally different software. Got that sorted, then opened up the Asrock RGB app. Refused to see the RAM. Updated BIOS which wiped all of my TPM settings so I then spent nearly an hour to change the pin. Running up and down the stairs to retrieve my phone so I could say "Yes, it is me". Hint - NEVER give these companies your mobile number. Eventually changed pin and got back in. RAM works, OK cool.

Take rig back down (now it was about 11pm). Fix RGB wire. I had to use selotape to keep them from pulling out. Whoever designed these connectors wants shooting. Attempted to refit cooler three more times but wires kept getting trapped. Eventually at gone midnight I got it back up on the desk.

Take the code sent to me from OCUK to Intel to activate game. I wanted BF6. Spent over an hour peeing around with accounts, confirming more BS before it finally gave me the code. Went off to "EA APP" or whatever they describe their dog toffee of an app these days, put in BF6 code and........ "Sorry the code has already been redeemed". Say what?!?!? Seems there is someone dishonest at Intel. So I will need to contact customer service at OCUK to get another.

So yeah. It was one of those things where absolutely every single thing you try and do just fights you to F for no good reason.

Pics later.

Some times you just need to know when to call it a night before it only gets worse and stabs you right in the sanity!

Hint - NEVER give these companies your mobile number.

Completely agree...although I fear you failed well before that point when you didn't jump through enough hoops to sign in with a local account rather than with a Microsoft account that then enables encryption and gives the key to someone else (Microsoft). ....but maybe that's just my paranoia.

RGB connector: Is this the standard four prong connector with one missing pin? Those are a pain for falling out. That's why I went to the hassle of swapping to the pico blade connectors that Aqua Computer use. They may be non-standard and they may be a royal pain to crimp on...but they do stay connected and they take up a lot less room too. Also that software malarkey is why I went with a dedicated controller (Farbwerk 360) and wired all the RGB to that. Far less software hell.
If it's got to be software controlled, have you looked at Signal RGB rather than the malware-riddled bloat that motherboard manufacturers build?

Thing is once it is all out (well, was) it takes a long while to put everything back. As mum gets older I find myself having far less time for me when I am here. So I just wanted it done, as part of the reason I wanted it so bad was Borderlands 4. My mate Ryan from the U.S and I have played through every single damn one of them for better or worse. So I gifted it to him for Xmas and we are starting Sunday. Most of the problem was just waiting for things tbh.

That said it is there now. These are not the most flattering pics ever but you know me. No frills. Is what it is and all that.

It's red obs. Well, at least for now. The badge (ST one) can't be just stuck on. There is no flat area in it. So, I need to fill the hollow with epoxy and I just haven't had time. Today was Christmas tree day, but the stand broke (concrete) so I have been drilling that and yada ya ya. Same old.

Just installing HL2 RTX on it now. BTW dude, Nova is waaaaay better than Ravenholm. Then again Nova is my fave part of HL2 so I may be biased, but RT just works a thousand times better in Nova.

Oh and I think I may now have BF6. Well, if it is what I think. I will post a shot of it later in the EA app, so if any one here plays it can they confirm it is BF6? sadly the internet here is absolute poop so I won't even try installing that or BL4 yet. Will just do that when I get home. Will only take about 20 mins each.

Oh and obs, no room for the ROG thing. That is one hell of a chunk of GPU tbh.

I think you need to check your autocorrect, it's doing very strange things when you typed "Anticitizen One" and "Follow Freeman".

Follow Freeman is the most annoying part of the game. Seriously, it angers me. All they do is get in the bleedin' way. Especially in buildings.

What cheats in the Strider fight? Nova Prospekt is fantastic though.

If you want cheating Striders, then try and go for the Neighborhood Watch achievement in Episode 2. All the Hunters are suddenly twice as strong with ridiculous line of sight and reactions.

The striders cheat. Their anti missile thing is BS. IE, I can fire a missile behind me, send it 180' in the opposite direction and its anti missile thing still works. I also hate it when one just flies around and around it, stopping you firing another.

Trust me dude, I have completed the entire game at least 20 times this year. Almost to the point of speed running it. That said, nothing annoys me more than the diareah frogs. You know? the bullet sponge head crabs that make you cack your pants if they touch you.

Looks good. I think the black looks better than the white tbh as you can't see the supports through the wood grill.
Definitely cosy in there!
Currently playing Ghostwire - which is weird but pretty good. Once I've finished that (or else I won't go back to it) I'll spin up some HL RTX.
I do vaguely remember the Neighbourhood Watch with the striders and hunters. Pretty sure I got the achievement but can't tell as they've merged the chapters in and reset all the achievements...apart from 'Singularity Collapse' and 'Atomiser' for some reason *shrug*

Yeah spot on. The white looks a bit like a clinic inside. Totally prefer the black tbh.

Oh and you were correct about the side RGB on the fan unit too. Poop.

Can't say I've ever noticed the Striders having missile defence, I just enjoy running around that plaza pummelling their faces with RPGs lol . The gunships are a pain for it, sure, especially on that frakkin bridge. And since I am arachnophobic, I absolutely DETEST poison headcrabs and their zombie.

Long overdue another playthrough, will be near the top of the list at Christmas when some form of computing is back up and running.

Diareah frogs dude. lmfao. And the diareah frog dealer :D :D

Yeah they suck nuts.

No word of a lie, I hate those things that much I jumped out of my skin when the automatic door of my local Sainsbury's made the same squeaking sound.

Have you played HL: Alyx where the headcrabs can jump on your face in glorious first person?! Reckon that'd be right up your street! ;)

They still make me jump now. Little sods hide and then fly at you when you're least expecting it.

I used to be terrified of spiders. So I bought a tarantula and a emperor scorpion. Job done.
