Sir Eric Demers (R600 Lead design) take on the R600 launch and what the future holds

This makes things look a little different, not exactly earth shattering performance but not bad. Reading that makes me wonder.... i'am going to be playing at 1650 so the two are almost identical. Will have to wait and see i guess.

Interesting.

It's hard trying to release stuff properly I guess. You always have a time limit, or pressure from higher up people (i.e. cut this, can't add this) or perhaps limited funds. (Obviously I don't think ATi and Nvidia are limited though). But you get what I mean... :)

However, like people have said, of course he's going to sound optimistic about it. He's not exactly going to go, "nah it's rubbish". Lol. :p He'll back it till the cows come home, and I'm sure if it were the other way round (i.e. Nvidia) they would as well.

Nevertheless, cheers for the link. :)

Was an interesting read.. Performance wise, I've found this card annihilates my old 1900XT anyway so I'm happy already. I've stuck my Maze on it so the fan doesn't bother me anymore and if as he says, newer drivers are going to bring lots more performance increases, I'll be even more happy! :D

He prob does honestly believe in his design or he wouldn't have designed it
that way in the first place. I know he ain't gonna slate his own design but
he dosen't really gain anything from lieing either as if it dosen't have any
decent increases then no one will listen in the future.
