Sir Nicholas Winton has died at the age of 106

Impressive man, and a heck of a legacy when you consider the number of people he saved and the ensuing children and grandchildren etc resulting.

Sir Nicholas brought the children to Britain, battling bureaucracy at both ends, saving them from almost certain death, and then kept quiet about his exploits for a half-century.

Top banana! Loss of a dying breed I feel, RIP.

Hesitate to call this man a hero the way that the word has been so devalued these days. But what he did cannot be quantified in the long term effects his actions had.
RIP Sir.

There should be a higher honour to grant to truly great people such as this man. He really should be recognised above sports personalities etc.

Indeed, or industrialists who buy their honours. Some people in the world do things which are awe inspiring and don't brag about it.
