Siri porting to iPhone 4

It won't officially come to the 4. So many 4s customers will be so annoyed that the only reason they forked out for the 4s as 4 customers is that it was only available for the 4s.

Apple wont care

1. because they have made a **** load of money
2. the 4s buyers wont be annoyed come iPhone 5
3. a lot of the 4 customers may be willing to give apple money for this as a app / addon

I wouldn't be surprised if it does actually come to the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 and Macs at some point. Nobody has seemed to identify that Siri requests go via apple first.

Thats a lot of data with 3 million+ global iPhone owners the release of 10.7.2, iOS5, iCloud etc. That is a serious amount of bandwidth.

Instead of unleashing it for all those users at the same time it makes far more sense to roll it out in stages with 4s early adopters getting it first.

Is it possible to incorporate vlingo into home button or add a speaker button into areas that require text ? Instead of opening vlingo every time ?

Other people in the jailbreaking community are saying this guy is lying and that nobody has it talking to apples servers yet.

Will have to wait and see.

Siri is now fully functional on the i4 and old iPod Touch, however the developer said he won't release it due to the legal implications of what he has done, however he did say that there is no doubt someone will package the cracked version of Siri and release it on Cydia

exactly. Only a matter of time now. I guess not until after the untethered jailbreak ? People saying you can't jailbreak an iPhone 4s? I know he obviously did but maybe not the redsnow method?

As of right now there is not publically available way of jailbreaking the 4S or the new iPad 2 on iOS5. There is a jailbreak available for older devices such as the i4 but it's tethered, which for 99% of the users, is pointless because you can't reboot your iDevice with it being plugged into a PC.

Pointless. Ive been jailbroken on iOS5 tethered now for 3 weeks and not once needed to reboot my phone. Only time was to install winter board but that was once.

How often do you use Cydia when you're not near a PC? there are loads of apps on Cydia tha require a reboot or respring.

Not to mention the random crashes that sometimes occur, admittedly iOS5 is more stable and less prone to crashing but it still happens.

Not forgetting the inevitable "I'll be ok with 30% battery... oh no my battery died and I need to charge my phone from a wall socket"

The latter happens to me almost daily, I always forget to take my charger to work.

I'll admit tethered is a step in the right direction, but it's hardly practical

Isn't there a 'semi-tethered' JB for the iP4 now? You still can't use most apps without tethering up, but the phone will boot untethered and you can make calls and send texts.

I disagree. I use cydia for hours every day. only winter board I use needed a reboot. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it when I was troubleshooting and it never required a reboot. So long as your installing iOS5 stable tweaks its fine.
I do take a charger to work but I only need it if I am not working very hard :P

and if my battery ever gets to a stage where its running to 20% then I can easily make it last me the rest of the day if I need be. I wouldn't be on the internet with it but I can make and take calls and texts.

Sorry after 3 weeks with it, its not been an issue with me.
