Site browser check - what's all that about?

Every time I come to log in I get a message which says

Checking your browser before accessing www.overclockers.co.uk.
This process is automatic. Your browser will redirect to your requested content shortly.

Please allow up to 5 seconds…

The checking process invariably takes at least 45 seconds. That's frustrating to say the least.
Also this is the only site I have seen such a message/process.

So - what's all that about?

Pretty sure it's Xenforo.
Shouldn't take 45 seconds... Have you tried with a different browser maybe to see if the same happens.
Are you on a VPN or something where your IP might be a bit suspicious vs a residential one. Could be that?

Anyway turns out that from my home PC if I go direct to forum here it's quick, but if I go to OCUK retail shop site (I was browsing there) it takes a long time;

Anyway all good just FY.


I actually think another forum I visit may do the same thing just disguise it differently
I learn something new every day or two lately

Many sites use Cloudflare, it's because you're posting via a VPN that's a long way away.

I wouldn't be too concerned with his apparent location. Look at the username landyvlad......land......y (why)......vlad! clearly a russian bot looking to find out the UK's perspective on the war, joined on Monday as well.
