SixAxis discontinued?

The sixaxis failed?

Even the PS3 fans admitted it was crap. The DS3 is a step in the right direction. Now all I need is a slightly bigger version with the dpad swapped with the left analogue stick and better triggers and I'd be happy :)

No way!! 10 years of experience aint going down the pan, different analog stick locations = :\. The only thing that would improve the pad now is if they improved the sensitivity of the triggers, but theyd need a design that doesnt loose the accessibility to the other shoulder buttons!

It's just my opinion as the stick placement and small size hurts my hands. The sticks are only placed there because they were stuck onto the original PS1 pad, not because any ergonomic research said it was best to place it there.

We should continue this in another thread though because I don;t want to take this too far off topic.

Bingo. It's like everybody's suddenly forgotten that the Dual Shock pad design is actually a Playstation 1 pad with the analogue sticks dumped on top of it.

I don't think the original had longer handles, the dual shock controller handles were just made fatter to accomodate the rumble feature.

Yeah, the original PS pads definitely had longer handles, not sure if it was just the Jap. versions or what though.

Not sure if the EU got shorter ones straight from the off, or if they were introduced later.

That probably explains why I don't remember PS1 pads hurting my hands, although I think it's because of the positioning of the analogue sticks too.
