Size of, well, everything

it totally fascinates me, that despite its size, the universe is scientifically finite so it has to exist within something even if what is outside the universe is nothing

Well... no, not really. It doesn't exist within anything, because there is nothing outside it. Outside it doesn't even make much sense as a concept, as there is nothing there at all - not even time or space.

something has to otherwise, how can the universe be finite as demonstrated by that diagram. may be large but it has a limit
