Skate!

Best trick I ever did on the demo was a backflip whilst in the street luge position (Coffin). Insane :D

Shame I couldn't upload the replay.

You reckon you could explain how to do that a bit better, would be cool to know how to land stuff stylishly on purpose. Sometimes I get a landing and it looks so real and styled but I can never do them deliberately.

Haha, thought it was hard to explain, ill upload a video from my mobile. As thats the only method that will work for me.

Damn I wanna try this out now - silly red lights :(

I'm fairly certain I saw a video of someone doing a body varial on you tube - anyone worked this out yet?

There's an idea of what i mean. Look at the last trick, im not at the right angle to go down the incline perfectly so you can quickly straighten up at the last second with the right analog stick.

To check out what i mean, do an ollie and while your in the air tweak you ollie with the right analog stick right or left. You see the skater move the board right or left with his feet, do that while doing a 180 for example and you can do a swift 360.

Ill do another vid if you cant see that one.

Sorry for the poor quality as it was done on my phone.

Josh

Body varials are kind of possible, but it wont call it one when you do the trick. I cant remember how to do it though, maybe a varial kickflip with a 180 rotation in the opposite direction to the kickflip? Its also possible to do a sex change sometimes when you do a late shuv it (swivel the right thumbstick as normal but when you are in the air)

As for the right thumbstick thing it looks very cool but it introduces a few bugs.

To do it ollie in the air and use the left thumbstick to the right to do a 180 (also works to the left) then push the right thumbstick to the right to do another quick 180. The bug is that when you do a 360 this way it only shows up as a 180. The right stick isn't intended to be used like this, its for positioning for grinds. Should be cool for videos though. I think it looks best when you use it on a QP.

I get 360's when i do it.

I agree you do find some bugs or rather glitches when doing it. I have had some funny moments using it.

Anyone done the sewers glitch? I nearly did it earlier, if you dont know what it is, youtube it.

Josh

Spent two sessions trying to get the sewer bug working thanks to the vid posted in the other thread... never managed it though :(

Can't wait for this release!

So the general concensus is that this is worth buying at release?

I'm starting to get quite intrigued by it's gameplay/controls.

Going to be an expensive month! :D

Have you downloaded the demo?
If you haven't, then do so and make up your own mind.

Other than that, I'd say yes... very much so worth getting it on release.

If you enjoy skating (or skating games) and want a more real feel that THPS then this game is a simple must buy.

I think Skate could be one of the big releases of the year :)

It was always my most anticipated game of the year, and after playing it I think its going to be my game of the year, easily the most innovative game i've played or seen this year.

It's downloading as I type. Looking forward to giving it a blast.

Yeah I have literally played it daily, release date seems to be coming sooooo slowly. And i know when I get it all my mates will be begging me to come play Halo 3 :(

I have been playing this demo pretty much everyday, untill my 360 broke!!! I am so mad, why now just before the game I bought the thing for is coming out .

Going back to using the right thumbstick, I use it for board slides, nose slides and tail slides. Just ollie before a rail or ledge they press and hold the right thumbstick left or right untill your sliding. Looks pretty stylish to me.
