Skate!

damn its tricky to master, knda like a really complicated fightnight control system, could not get it to manual no matter how much i tried though.
Right for those suffering with the manual technique.

Its easy when you know how. Simply get 3 kicks, i always use the A button, because its easiest. Youve then got lots of speed. Then with just the right stick, bring it back about 2-3 millimetres its not a big distance, if you go too far he will crouch for an ollie and you will have to wait till he comes out of that by returning the right stick to its middle position. Keep trying to get that small movement.

Once youve done that, go for a manual, then from manual position throw the stick back and around for a shuvit from manual and when you rotate the stick around to the top move it to just above centre to land in a nose manual, similarly from nose manual throw the stick straight forwards for a nollie and then bring it back around for a nollie shuvit and move the stick to just below centre to catch it in a manual again.

what an awesome demo!
i found it pretty easy to do tricks at first, just gets harder with the timing imo
i just need the video uploader to work now

So who's getting it? I pre ordered it last night after my first run through.

Im a bit worried it wont be popular because of the hardcore nature, hopefully EA will advertise the shiznit out of it because i want this franchise to continue.

I am definately getting it, although I don't usually pre order games so I'll just pick it up on release day :)

3 weeks and 2 days to go (I think)

Got the demo at long last.

I love skateboarding in real life so playing this is awesome. Its so authentic. Pumping works how it should in real life in the game.

I can powerslide while holding the board old skool style. Still playing at the moment.

Awesome fun!

ive uploaded 6 videos now and cant find any of them on the skate website :/
ive created an account and all of that but still cant find them

Played the demo a while now. Conclusion: This game is 10 times better than Tony Hawks. It's pure awesomeness. I can't wait to get the game and try out huge stair sets and drops...etc

I've decided my goal tonight when i get home from work is to go and start learning all the flip tricks. i felt last night that i was a bit guilty of just flicking the thumbstick around to get a random trick. Then after i've mastered that im going to start learning all the grabs, god its so great to finally have a skating game that has progression!

It's a good game, but i'm still doing TH stuff (double kick-grind-kick-grind-heel-grind-pop-manual-heel) Admitidly, it's a lot harder to do because of the way you ollie.

This is fantastic, could THPS3 be knocked off the best skating game ever??

Although, without wanting to start a war, i think this is going to be better suited to the PS controller. Think the sticks in line will be a bit better on this.

Can't wait for it though.

obviously (to some people but not others), i have an interest in skateboarding. i have always enjoyed the tony hawk games but got tired of the same old challenges. i found myself playing them just to see the pro footage, might as well go out and get 411 for £10 instead!
now this is great for a real skater or even someone who just finds THPS unrealistic. the idea of the right thumb stick simulates the use of your feet really well and like real life, you have to time tricks just right.
it could be a 50/50 split for some people but i think this is a nice fresh approach to skating games, reminds me of when ESPN tried it, waaaaay back. i gave a lot of time to that game but its controls where lame.

One thing I don't like is the lens vignette effect on the corners of the screen.

EDIT: AWESOME. I just found out that if you do a kick flip/heel flip and hold it top right/left it does a double kick/heel flip :D
