Skate!

somewhere in the res. You know the dead end road that runs down by the mega compound? through that tunnel & turn right & there is a road tunnel with pillars. Started at the junction after that afer Chris Cole tried to get all gay with me

Got lucky with the traffic & finished up near the zen plaza (burbs to zen race) I just went straight on as the traffic was easier there :)

Pretty awesome :)

haha, how long did that take to do?

The longest I've done is around 500m I think.

And that was with stopping a few times still in manual, and wiggling the left stick from side to side to get momentum again

Glad there's a thread on this. I got the game on Monday after finally getting around to playing the demo, and it really is a breath of fresh air for the skateboarding genre. I tried the THPG demo but switched it off before the 10 minutes were up, as I simply wasn't enjoying it. There's definitely something great in Skate, as simply hitting a nollie - manual - grind combo feels amazing as it can take real skill to do. It's one of those games that'll keep me going for ages as there will always be some way to improve or lines to find.

Anyone else having problems with skate. reel?

Ive uploaded 2 videos now and I want to watch them :( but I don't get any email to confirm etc.

Any help appreciated.

Couldn't agree more, I've said time and time again that THPG will probably sell a lot of copies on it's name alone - whilst skate could possibly be a hidden gem.

The feeling you get when you've worked on a line for quite some time, and absolutely nailed it is wonderful.

It's a game that you can experience real extremes of emotions, at points you just feel like giving up - you just can't complete that one challenge, or just can't execute the set of moves you're aiming for... but something brings you back to try for more... you finally nail it to a tee, and you're ecstatic for the next few minutes!

I think skate is extremely close to real skating, you do need a degree of real skill to execute tricks and linking moves together. You do experience the highs and lows of skating as well.

I've got the same problem. I'm guessing that because Skate Reel is still in beta they're having trouble with it.

Exactly the same problem here too.

I've only managed to upload one photo successfully, and that was with the Demo version.

The game seems to upload videos fine, but I get no confirmation at all and I can't seem to find them on their site.

Oh and welcome back Davey :)

McDan tell you that did he? :p

Did you two ever have that battle that you were talking about?

Seeing who could complete different games quickest (etc)?

Seem to remember McDaniel putting a thread up about it aaaaages ago.

Skate is a fantastic building block for a future sequel and something I'm really looking forward to.

Definately! If there is a Skate 2 it should be absolutely brilliant - there's been many people stating that there a certain things missing, but like you've said, I'm sure EA see this a building block for future games.

Lip tricks like hand plants or inverts, the ability to get off your board and flat land tricks are certain things I've seen mentioned.

Whilst I'm not fussed about the later too, hand plants would be a nice feature.

I certainly don't want Skate to get bloated with tricks and features though.

Would be interesting to see how they implement hand plants with skates control system as well.

guys, come on it has been out less than a month lets not forget about this one with talk of the next one (although I am sure it will be brilliant :D). Got a few new games recently so playing a few but I know once I tire of everything this game will be the one I come back to, to find nice lines and spots!

Still need to work on owning all the spots and by work on them i mean find them!

Coincidentally is your sig a pic from skate?

And I don't think anyone is forgetting about this one, it's a brilliant game... but you still can't help but anticipate a sequel!
