Skiing is fanstatic, really love it, me and the g/f are off to Sauze d'Oulx, in Italy next week 
, though not all the lifts are open 
I spend a lot of time at norwich dry slope practicing, as they say if you can do it on a dry slope then real thing is some much easier.

last minute deals to italy are cheap enough. I think me and my dad went for about £300 each -B&B, transfers, ski hire and lift pass included. Wasnt the best hotel but it was good enough, had ok food and tv in the room.
We just took a bit of bread and ham/cheese from breakfast for lunch and some fruit. Excellent value!

Not necessarily. went skiing for free on saturday (special offer to celebrate a new ski lift).I went skiing again on Sunday for free (I did a short ski tour, no lift ticket required).
And a season lift pass can be very cheap. I got a season pass to Kirkwood when I lived in California and it only cost me 300$, paid that off by December (60$ lift tickets normally), I then skied the rest of the season right up to and through April for free.
IF you are stuck in London or somewhere then, yes paying for flights and accommodation sucks.
I bought my girlfriend the "Ski in a day" package from tamworth snow dome. I've been skiing before but it was 8 years ago so I figured I'd do it as well for a bit of fun. Not till May though (thats when its cheaper

Just got back from a week and a half in Morzine... It snowed the first night and we had a great set of days skiing, really good conditions. Great fun, I may go up to the Cairngorms in a while, though i'm not sure how it compares. Finished my trip by coming this close to breaking my leg. Would do it all again though
I did "Board in a Day" at Tamworth early in 2007, was very good snowboarding but I've since gone back to skiing, not sure why but I just enjoy skiing more.
