Sking/Snowboarding 09/10

Certainly finishing the season here, in fact, I'd do another if I could but alas visas and all that boring stuff is getting in the way.

I've heard the three valleys is good, or should I consider a lesser resort?

Holy ****, 80cm fresh powder and the alpine opened today with clear skys and sun. Had an insane couple of lines off the peak but the crowds got too much for me - I think there must have been 30,000 people on the hill today, not a parking spot within 2 miles of the gondi's.

I wonder what the Olympics will do for numbers, I'm hoping it scares folk off

So whats the snow and weather like stu, im counting down the days till friday!!!

Just had 4 pow days in a row thanks to a crazy storm system! The 5 day forecast is calling for light flurries and cloudy conditions, thats up until you arrive, after that who knows.

Regardless of the conditions the base is very good, over 3 metres, so all areas are well filled in. The mountains are nice and quiet mid-week so you should get plenty of the slopes to yourself. Total snowfall for the season is at 9.5m!

How long are you here for?

Couple of things to wet your appetite:

Loving the Olympics, slopes are dead. Not lined up for a lift since last Sunday.

Fresh lines for 4 hours before work today - day 50 of the season

PS. Personal thoughts on rocker - superior for everything except euro-carving groomers. I ride rocker, but miss the camber on icy days.

In Whistler, none, we're having a record year.

Down in Van they are struggling though. Helicopters running 24/7 @ Cypress pulling snow from the peak down to the half pipe and border cross. Costing $10k/hour apparently.

They are resorting to building the border cross corners from hay and molding snow around it.

West coast BC is having one of its wettest winters ever, unfortunately its just too warm down there at sea level in the city.

(tu)!

Cat boarding on a bluebird, not a bad day :D

Winter is back here in Whistler after a 6 week warm spell. Got a new head cam, found some weird music and mashed together some footage from yesterday - 2ft of fresh in the past 72hours
