So, the time has come for a new log. Finally.

Lifting has been very erratic since I injured my hip a couple of years ago and - coupled with a site move away from my work gym - not consistent.

I am slowly getting back into a stable routine and logging will help because of the 15% arbitrary increase in perceived awesome from logging.

Aims: to peel.
Current stats: weak as anything, but around 91kg.

Routine:

Day 1: snatch, snatch pull, bent-over row, push-ups
Day 2: snatch warmup, squat, BSS,
Day 3: clean, clean pull, strict press, SAR
Day 4: snatch warmup, squat, BSS

We shall see how this goes...
 
Yesterday was a bit of a re-introduction for me at the work gym, so took advantage of the bench and platform...

SNATCH (3) 40-50-60-70-80(2) The 80kg reps were hang snatches and I wasn't dropping under properly, so left them there...
CLEAN (3) 80-90-90 Easy enough, but didn't have the stones to jerk that weight without a decent warm-up, first! :o
BENCH ss/w NEUTRAL CHINS (10) 60/BW-70/BW-70/BW(9) First time benching in over a year, I suspect. So much pump.
HIIT on a Watt Bike - 5 minutes

Interesting the difference using an expensive weightlifting bar vs. a cheap one (that I have at home); much "springier" giving much better feel through the lifts. Also, mildly surprised to hang-snatch 80kg, but it's all good. The Watt Bike destroyed me, however, but I realised the intervals on my watch were 40s:10s (on:off) which is why it was so brutal.

Looking forward to brutalising my legs later on today...

SNATCH WARM-UP (3) 40-50-60 Practising getting under the bar... A bit slow and a bit wobbly, but nothing dropped.
BACK SQUAT (8) 60(5)-80(5)-90-90-90 Such burn.
BSS (10) BW(8)-8-20-20 Ultra burn. Everything hurts.
KB SWINGS (40) 20kg Nnnnnnnnnnngh. Horrible. Absolutely horrible.
 
I was gonna say you managed get 80kg snatches on your first session back is much impressive

I was lucky, and my technique at that weight went to pot. :D

POWER CLEAN (3) 40-60-70-80-85 No full cleans as my hips took around five minutes to un-seize... Still riven with squat DOMS.
CLEAN PULL (3) 90-120-120-120-120 A bit too heavy for proper high pulls, but usefully to start moving the weight. Can't believe I hang cleaned this a couple of years ago... :O
STRICT PRESS (10) 40-45-47.5 Felt heavy - last rep at 47.5 was push-pressed. Need moar reps.
PUSH PRESS (8) 50 Just to total my shoulders...
SAR (12) Some weight (20kg bar + 20kg plates) Burn felt good.

There we go. My glutes and hamstrings were still fried, but worked. Just. :D
 
I did some bench on Tuesday because I was in the other office...

DB BENCH (10) 16-25-30-35 Well that wasn't so bad...
BENCH (10) 70 To finish...

Today...

SNATCH (3) 40-50-60-70 Better every session, but 70kg felt really heavy.
BACK SQUAT (8) 92.5-92.5-92.5
SNATCH PULL (3) 92.5-92.5-92.5 Moving nicely!
BSS (10) BW-8-20 Ouch.
KB SWING (45@20kg) Hnnnnng.

Sharp calorie deficits are never pleasant. But I was below 90kg yesterday morning and whilst the oblique moved in weeks ago, the abz are slowly starting to come out of hiding. :eek:
 
So hot and humid... sweated out another 5kg!

Made the mistake of running around a field with my dog yesterday, so my legs were not amused.

The platform at work was in use, so no snatch warm-up, either...

BACK SQUAT (3) 60(5)-80(5)-110-115-115-115-60(10)-60(10) Wasn't really feeling up to high and relatively heavy reps...

Some dirty pressing this morning as I had fifteen minutes to spare...

OHP (10) 40(5)-50-50-50(7)-40(4) Shoulders were destroyed after this...
PUSHUP (10) 10-10-BW Trize and delts refused to respond after the OHP, so this was less dramatic than hoped. :o

This cut is not proving the most fun I have ever had. :p

SQUAT (3) 100-110-115-115-117.5-60(8)-60(8) DOMS almost instantly .
PRESS (5) 40-50-60(3)-60(3) Ran out of time...

Need to think carefully about diet from here on in as weight loss has stalled at around 89kg and still could do with (short term) another 2kg off, but mindful that getting rid of such an amount will require serious effort and won't be much fun!

Meant to do more, but had to go to a barbecue. :D

Overall progress seems good: I am not getting weaker, but am down at 88.5kg running on empty, so I will be cutting to the end of July, and then it will be open season. :D

Considering I was over 100kg a couple of years ago, I don't think that's too bad...
 
The heat made it a tad uncomfortable yesterday, but had not really lifted enough in to week...

SNATCH (3) BAR-40-60-70-70-70 Bar needs to come closer and need a bit more starting flexibility to get close to it in the first pull...
