That's what I thought - I don't find I need to undo my seatbelt to pay somebody through my window The Peugeot 1007 I hired in Italy had some sort of sensor in the seat bottom - if you perched on the end of the seat the warning buzzer didn't go off.
Does the system work by having a complete circuit when the seatbelt is plugged in? If so, you could just have a metal strip between contacts in the socket?
On my a3 for example once im going over 15mph it starts going mad, if i am above 15mph and take my seatbelt it keeps going off until i turn off the engine. If i slow down to under 15mph undo my seat belt then it doesn't moan until i put me foot down again.
I think that is a bit OTT. I'm pretty sure you are going to need to plug into the ECU to turn it off. You could try your local dealer they may be able to help but I'm not sure if this has any legal implications.
I don't mind emailing one of the Skoda Technical guys (as I work for VW Group) tomorrow to see if there is an easy way to do it.
