Sky and YouTube Lag?

Has anyone else noticed this?

My YouTube hd buffering is terrible, always lags and I keep getting frustrated with it, to the point where it keeps putting the video quality down to 380p at times.

Anyone with the same issue?

Yes mines the same, is yours like it on wifi devices and machines on the LAN?

Assuming you mean fibre? As I am on

Yep, it's the case for many many people for some reason. Not just for Sky users i don't think.

Yup all connections on my network. Not on fibre, just standard 20mb line.

A relief that its not just me, but its becoming very frustrating.

Any info on a fix? I saw the virgin media thread about the IP fix but hoping Sky themselves would fix this issue.

Mine does this with 100mb Virgin Media Broadband, so annoying.

It's very annoying, should be able to have numerous people on YT in the same house on fibre, not a chance in mine

It would say it's a Sky & VM YT proxy/cache issue.

I'm on BT inifity and I've been having issues with YT lately.

Some videos were refusing to start, other took ages to start and some would stop buffering half-way through (after buffering extremely slowly) and drop to 240p.

Seems to be alright tonight though. edit: it's knackered tonight too.

I'm with plusnet and i'm having a few issues tonight. Everything is taking a while to start then has to buffer half way through. This is even when on 360p.

It's been rubbish on my Sky connection for a couple of weeks.

Doesn't appear to be a capacity issue - everything else runs at maximum speeds. It's just YouTube. 480p is OK, anything higher keeps stopping to buffer.

Same for me. Everything else is fine.

It's youtube thats playing up,been ok but now takes a min to start some video's.

They have been having loads of trouble lately and hope they fix it soon.
