sick of adsl24 will sky be a good move for me must have good gaming ping and the occasional linux iso
my exchange has sky but no other LLU

Most definitely worth it if you have Sky LLU on your exchange, Take the max package & enjoy freedom on the web with no limits :p

pings are fine for me usually between 30 & 40 never any higher really. As bloomfield said though you do need to be a Sky TV customer to be able to have their broadband.

If you have the LLU on your exchange and you live fairly close to it. I would go for it! Your connection speed should be faster than ADSL24.

I get a solid 20mb ;)

i was with sky and then moved to virgin media when i moved house. i liked sky because they didnt throttle downloads xP but my ping was mid 70's constantly.

but now im with VM and doing the same speed test i get a ping of 15 :) but they throttle :( but i am happy with the service :D tho my ip doesnt change when i reset the modem which is annoying cos my mate has hacked on his steam account in CSS (naughty boy) and think he got my IP banned from a few good servers :( so dunno what to do about that

Is the Sky Unlimited really unlimited like Be Unlimited is? (too much unlimited!)

sky's unlimited means unlimited and is the only ISP to offer this.
All others have fair usage, some such as Be have their's so high and i'm yet to hear of any1 getting a lette from them saying they've downloaded to much.

For £10 p/m it is truly unbeatable...

Where else am I going to get the below stats for that price?

That is a really nice connection you have there ManCuBuS!

DSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13393 kbps 916 kbps
Line Attenuation 34.0 db 17.2 db
Noise Margin 6.4 db 8.0 db

Mine in comparison heh lol

I am in the same boat, am with ADSL24 but my only LLU choice here is Sky. I'm not going to sign up to Sky TV which I don't want, just to get Sky broadband though :(

I have had zero problems with Sky since September.

Line was activated on the date given. Once DLM (Digital Line Management) had finished, I called Sky on a Sunday morning and was immediately put through to tier2 who then increased my line to its max and asked me if I game online. They then set my max delay to 8 and I get pings in the 30's.

It's been rock solid since and I have only ever turned the router off to test another.

All this for £10 a month with max download speed even between 6pm - 11pm. Well worth it :)

Up yours BT :p

Sky's is slightly different to Be* and o2's, as sky unlimited has no FUP at all (only ISP in the UK to offer truly unlimited/no traffic shaping etc BB afaik), whereas o2 and Be* do have FUPs, they just choose not to enforce them.

already got sky tv so its a no brainer then?

adsl24 is like having a 512K connection again, dreadful

If you've already got the TV why not totally worth it :) Just make sure you order the Unlimited LLU service & not the other ones as they have monthly caps of 10gb :)

Entirely up to you though :)

I get around Connection Speed 13393 kbps 916 kbps too.

Router is a Sagem one, seems decent. Not dropped connection yet and had it for a couple of months. Think im going to ring up tonight and get them to change 'Max delay' to 8 so pings are better in gaming
