Hello,

I have Sky TV and its the first time ever I have used Sky Box Office to by a sporting event.

I have the telephone line plugged in, i am told i need this in when ordering.

I have gone through the menus, Sky Box Office - Sporting Events - Selected the program i want and set it to auto view.

It never asked me for a PIN number or gave any type of conformation screen.

Is this how Box Office works ??

At 8pm will the event just begin ??

Thanks Ben

IIRC it'll ask for your pin when it starts - in case you TV explodes between now and then.

I'm not sure - its been nearly a year since my last box office (Haye vs Valuev) but from what I remember, i did what the OP did, selected the fight, then simply tuned into the Box office channel (760 something) and it started playing.

As I understand you will only get charged if you actually watch it. I remember having to put a pin in to watch a film when it started. But I haven't used box office in years

If the telephone line is plugged in you purchase using your pin and it should appear in your planner if your using sky+ or skyHD. If its on the planner its ordered fine.

The price of the even gets charged to your bill and if its ordered after youve had your letter for this months bill through it will be added to next months.

First time on here that working at sky has paid off :P

Yep that's the way it works, the price will just get added to your next bill. Who you going for, Haye or Harrison? :p

Normally it sends you a reminder that it's about to start as well.

You can order without the phone line plugged in, but the box has a limit on spending without "dialing home" to add it to your bill. I found that it was £50 on ours, but it might vary.

It doesn't ask us for a pin, we went to a friends to watch the boxing but there seems to be a problem as she couldn't order it and no one was answering the phones to book. We ended up coming home and watching it here where it ordered fine.

Once you have ordered it the programme will just start, if you haven't booked you'll just get a pay per view screen come up.
