Sky box software upgrade

Sigh, THE GUIDE IS NOT AVAILABLE ON ANY BOX OTHER THAN THE AMSTRAD 890 OR 895 1TB BOX.

That is, ANY box made by Pace, Samsung or older Amstrad boxes CANNOT get the guide by forced update at the moment as it has not been released yet. You can do as many updates as you like but it won't happen.

The guide will NEVER be available on any Thomson box.

Explains why it didnt work on the Sky HD box I gave to my brother last year.

I noticed the one I brought which the update worked, the box looked different on the front as it had a green LED and Sky 3D Anytime+ logo on the front.

Looks like I'll need to buy a new box since mine is a Thomson.

If it's a Thomson HD without the network port for Anytime+, ring them as they will (have been anyway) replace it for free. Just tell them you want to enable Anytime+ but can't because of the box.

I even managed to get them to do this with a Thomson+ box, but only because the sales rep made a mistake and the line manager honoured it

Thomson HD boxes have the network port, they just don't have the software for anytime+.

Login to mysky and look for the 'upgrade my box' option and you should see a free box upgrade available.

Has anytime changed on the new EPG?

I can't for the life of me see why all the icons for films on the GUI are only in SD and you have to search in ALL for the HD versions. Surely they could do it so you click the film and get the option of SD or HD if you have the necessary pack.
