Hi all, moving to a property that apparently doesn't have fibre cable so we cant take our 30 meg superhub with us, what would you recommend, looking to get sky TV but is sky okay for broadband too? havent heard too many reviews but can usualy trust what I hear here.

weve had sky bb and vm 50mb since they were avail in our area, talking a good 4 years now.(for sky bb any, virgin came later) Both are fantastic, ofc speed o virgin is quite a bit better, but in the past 4-5 years we have only had 2, maybe 3 service disruptions with sky, and in the past 2 years we have had mybae 4 service disruptions with VM. so both are veryy good.

Regards

Dont get virgin adsl no matter what their cs say its rubbish annd there are plenty of forums that show how bad they are. Sky llu is a good choice but its not available o2/be will be just as good and they also do voice lines. Just a little note, sky will pay for the install of a new line for the 30 quid activation fee as I didnt pay £117 +vat for an install & this was shown as a credit on my bill.

I have the Sky Package for TV (+ HD), phone and unlimited "up to 20mb" and for the price it's amazing.

I'm lucky enough to live within sprinting distance of the exchange so i get up to around 16 down and 0.8 (*sigh*) up. I've had it all for over a year now and not had any problems at all, apart from a little while ago when the Sky exchanges went **** up and had to be upgraded. It's been as stable as a rock for me.
Gets 2 thumbs up for me.

Check the sky forum before you order. Full of complaints, including one of mine!
I have just cancelled my second attempt at ordering, due to contadictory, and frankly untrue 'advice' given out by sky.
I'm sure if you can actually get signed up, its great, but also be aware you need a sky talk phone line now, and that seems to be causing all sorts of problems for people. Some people are waiting months to get broadband activated, after the phone line is changed over, with no end in sight and there is a total lack of communication, other than sky advisors on the forum saying how 'sorry' they are, and how they can only 'apologise'!
sky customer service is probably the worse I have ever had to deal with. If you do phone them, refuse to have them call you back, because they won't, and expect to get the phone put down on you at any time.
For now I would rather stay on my 'up to 8mb' ADSL24 line, and pay more money, thats how bad the experience has been.

There can be minor hiccups with any company, and out of all the companies ive had to phone sky were the best depending on which call centre you got through to.

Their llu service imo is great value for money, you now need line rental with sky as of september 1st.
Im with virgin and downgraded to 10mb and now considering moving to sky due to their price and no limits or throttling.
