Hi guys - recently made the switch from BT to SKY, and ever since I have, the wireless on the router - after many attempts of troubleshooting from the tech guys from sky, isnt working.

It cuts out all the time, and is a general pain.

Rang up about 3 times, no joy.

What shall I do?

And another question, if I am on the laptop downloading, and me bro is on the xbox 360 - and I have an up to 6.5mb line, there should be no slow down right? Both using wireless btw.

Cheers guys :)

No idea about the router, if the support guys have tried then maybe they should send you a new one.

You only have the bandwidth you have, its all getting shared between whatever is on your network so you will see and impact on your download depending on what else your doing.

I see that common sense is not that common in Leicester.

they are lovely guys, but when you get a bloke with a thick scooooootish accent, I cant understand anything! :p

:D class

With regards to the wireless if its the new black router the signal is very random its stronger than the last model but can be subject to dead points.

Phone up and say the wireless light on the router doesnt come at all, and you get no signal showing on several devices, you will get a new one pretty quickly and if it's the same you know its a local issue blocking the signal.

It is the new black one mate.

Rang up SKY, 4th time now.......................

They said they cant do anything until it disconects...!!!!:mad:

We have done all the things that this bloke was telling me to do and what he wants to do when it disconnects 2 times previously. So fustrating. He wouldnt get it through to his thick head, Ive done this with them before.

Angry, lol

jesus the guy sounds like a muppet, time to break out the unfixable, phone them and say you reset it like the last guy and now it wont turn on at all no lights, then act upset he's broke your net for 5 days for a replacement router and you want a month free, unless your on base. :D

Would they not click on to the fact that seeing as I rang them earlier today , and my router brakes later that day by magic that I may be bull****ing? :D

Lol - this is Sky we're talking about here :p

I'd be inclined to follow Dave's advice - plead ignorance, if your calling at this time of night (or later) your more likely to get an agent in a UK based call centre (Scotland, Shepton or Ireland)

Trust me if you think us Scots are bad you want to try speaking to some of the muppets they employ in Manilla, I'll keep the conversation here polite (and within the rules) and just say they're "fraustrating" :p
