After reading the various reports regarding Sky Broadband I came to the conclusion it was for me. I am on Virgin at the moment and decided yesterday to return to Sky. Some time ago when it was NTL I upgraded my Broadband from 8megs to 10, this procedure took only seconds to complete and was free. As I am on my 30day shut down with Virgin I thought I will reduce my cost's by changing back to 8 megs and reducing the channels I pay for. Guess what now it's Virgin it will cost me more money to change my package. Thank you Mr branson & goodbye.

NTL upgraded you from 8meg to 10meg? Are you sure it wasn't 4 to 10?

BTW Sky BB is ****, I hope you have a lot of hair to pull out when the **** hits the fan?

KTHXBYE :D

^ i would be one of them

Full speeds at all times of the day :D

Happy chappy

you will always here more from the small majority that are unhappy with the service. dont beleave everything you read.

Going ahead as planned, as you say there is always the minority who have problems and are unhappy.
Thanks for all your replies.

Yep there is always that balance between people who have and don't have problems. Where sky fail is in how they deal with the % of customers who have problems.

If you are one of the unlucky ones who run into problems then sky are one of the worst company's ever, they have procedure after procedure in place that *must* be followed and this slows down the process considerably. Tech staff fail to record information about the problem so you end up repeating the same thing over and over again.

In order to get to speak to people who know what their doing you have to wait 5 days and *hope* they ring you as no one will patch you through to them direct. And the people who haven't got a clue will generally string you along.

I've had countless problems and been on dial up for the best part of 2 months now where as my mate at the end of the road was connected within 5 days and it's working fine. Now i'm not miffed at having problems, i'm annoyed at how my problems have been handled and this is where sky fails nearly every time.

I'd go with Gman.... My connection to Sky BB Max was flawless with good speeds from day 1. My mother on the other hand had been waiting several months to migrate (A permanent "tags haven't been removed from the line, call back in 10 days" reply even though I had to check BT Wholesale and tell Sky that it's their OWN tags on the line!. )

CS just do not know what they're doing and cannot answer your questions as their training is so poor. Each time you ring, you get told something different.

Sky BB is cheap.......you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!!
