i wouldnt say 70 was fine tbh

PLEASE do a ping in dos to www.jolt.co.uk and a tracert

thanx

The sky pings will be high as interleaving is on as standard to reduce line errors.

Nothing bad about that apart from online gaming might have some lag! However I ping 44ms to most servers and have no lag issues so what is the point your trying to make?

Ok

Try to accept this

I get 0 lag with a 90 ping

Suck it

Lag only happens at around 100 UNLESS the game devs screwed the netcode over

finaly connected today after being bounced around for a good 2 months.

Pinging jolt gives me a ping of 35ms and thats with Interleaving turned on so not too bad really.

My mate is waiting for his Sky broadband router to be delivered!!

In the mean time I had a Netgear DG834G (I think it is?) laying about so I wiped the config and gave it to him to try, well it says 'connected' in router status and is showing downstream and upstream but he can't actually get a web page??

I take it that router should be fine for Sky BB? Also the user name is [email protected] ???

Can someone confirm please? I have browsed the web and the VPI/VCI are 0/38 as default?

Can't think of anything else tbh?? Any help/advice would be great?

Has be got DNS servers set up? If so, can he ping them? If they can be pinged set the MTU to 1478 in router.

Not sure but I can check, do Sky tell you what the DNS prim/sec are or not?

I'll get him to look at that

Edit: Is that user name format correct too?

Thanks ;)

Username is
surname.first letter of first [email protected]

Say, peter jackson
[email protected]

Well thats how mine is anyway.
I got mine sent in a letter from sky.

Sky lock there routers firmware tho, so you can't find out your login and pass key, to stop you using a different router.
The username etc is just used to log onto the Sky Broadband page.
