SKY capping my internet.

Sometimes as a vague guide you can walk your area checking available wifi on your phone, if you find many starting SKYxxxx then you likely have a lot of users. If net speeds increase and become what you expect around the same time each night it sounds very much like over subscription and peak congestion. If you are nearing the end of your contract it might be best to start looking at alternatives.

I phoned sky to double check before I done any more investigating into this.

and there was nothing to see on there end, so she asked me to reset the router and was asking about wi if devices connected.

the only thing I can think of out of the ordinary is I use WiFi for my knock off bulbs behind my tv in my man cave?

will try removing them and see what happens.

Ok my input, for cs go there maybe a routing issue as my pings are usual low but as of late I have been sitting at 100ms. Now this has has been a few of us on the server using the openreach fibre and the ones on virgin being fine. I rang sky due to another issue with my 20mbps speed drop from 40. There answer oddly enough fixed it when I thought it was the line. Press and hold the reset switch on the back of the router for 20 seconds. My speed issue is gone now, oddly pings are normal but tjink it was more likely routing.

Does Samknows work with SKY. I'm under the impression this will give speeds coming into your modem.. If thats ok wont that point to house network issues
or have i fallen for marketting

Sky can use a slightly different structure to connect its customers back to core from exchanges. Op seemingly had an unrelated issue - resetting the router wouldn’t affect routing to a remote server (other than it not happening till the connection re-synced).

Cancelled the apointment for this month as the internet is running well atm, tbh, really good considering the speeds im limited to where I live.
