So I have been with sky for a number of years. My wife for the last couple of years has always complained about connection issues in the house, and spends a lot of her time on 4g.
I never really noticed an issue with connection around the house or through usage but things seem to have gotten progressively worse over the last 4-5 months.
I now can guarantee that I will have connection issues while I am sat in the kitchen which is approximately 10 feet from the router maximum, and through an open doorway. Pretty much a straight line with no walls in the way. Also when upstairs in the house now has issues.
The oddity is all devices WiFi signal strengths remain pretty consistently maxed in most of the house.
I have done the basic try and change channels away from any others used by neighbours and not real effect.
We also seem to get regular evening time connection slowdown, the odd thing is this doesn't seem to effect our streaming capability, just use of connection via other devices.
I have over a year ago purchased a TP-Link router (AC1200 Archer VR400) to plug in and see if this makes a difference, but as yet never gotten round to unboxing it, as I just thought the issue was limited to my wife's phone!
Sorry in advance for lots of probably generic questions.
Is it my ISP?
Is it my hardware? (can I even replace the Sky Q hub?)
Would a mesh WiFi setup potentially sort the problem?
(something like this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/tend...mesh-wifi-router-system-2-pack-nw-018-td.html)
I plan on trying to run a boardband quality monitor, will this help show anything?
