Moved TV from Sky to Virgin. Sky don't want dish. Free satellite dish.

What can I do with it?

All satellite equipment from sky becomes the contract holders property once installed.

Sell it, scrap it, bin it, leave it. Its yours and has been since the start, as per the contract which you signed.

Sell it on a auction website, give to a friend or neighbour who wants sat tv.

Or take to your local refuge centre for recycling.

cant help you, but i'm kinda interesed in this too, theres a sky dish installed from the people who used to live here before me, could i just plug it into a freesat box or something?

Yes as SKY uses the same alignment as freesat, 28.2 East.

Yep, no worries there.
Satellite tv from freesat or from Sky comes from the same cluster of satellites. So you can just buy a freesat box, plug in and get going

Yeah I think there are freesat adapters, there are definitely terrestrial ones and I think there are freesat ones too. I remember that light blue polo shop used to sell them

Or Sky do their own (very similar) which your old box should be able to use - sky should/could have downgraded your card to a "freesat from sky" card.
