Sky gives "The Chop" . . . the chop.

I won't bother with the usual ******** that follows these threads, all I want to say here is that it's rather embarrassing that a professional content producer couldn't figure it out sooner. No doubt as a result of the lost revenue, they'll take the easy route (as opposed to a lengthy, expensive vetting process) out of this in the future by flagging these specific tattoos as off-limits for show-runners, perhaps they'll just blanket ban facial tattoos in general unless it's a documentary.

I wonder if Sky would have pulled the show if any of the actors had black supremacist symbols tattooed on their face?

I'm getting fed up of all the 'black music awards' type things. Isnt there currently a 'black TV season' on one of the channels?
If this was any other race, would it be acceptible? ...White music awards, Asian history month etc.

Are you high. Do we need to call your carer. The guy had nazi symbols all over his face.

Having not one, but 3 tattoos on your face associated with neo Nazis would indicate he is a racist, or perhaps former racist.

Not having them covered up when you are going to be on TV and lying to the producers that the '88' is in reference to the year your dad died, when he's very much alive would indicate that the guy is very much still a racist...

I still struggle with your point. You (many others) seem to wash everything with this new racial brush. Labelling and grouping people based on an “interpretation” of what you perceive as good or bad. Racism is an action, a display or situation of someone causing pain or harm to people of colour. He never did any of this via the show.

Your points are not to judge, or be discriminatory to people who are minorities, yet you can’t follow the same mindset for someone you are not defending. It must be consistent. You are doing the judging and condemning him outright without evening knowing the story.

Let’s just say they are confirmed racist tattoos. this may have happened years ago. He may have made a mistake as a teenager. ? Does he not deserve the right to admit his mistake or move past them. ? This man is not a criminal. He has not killed anyone. ?

The left wing mind games just play into a cult like ideology, where this vision of a good or “right” society is approved and everything else right of this is labelled and smeared against.
Those that shout words the loudest are usually the ones guilty of the accusation.

Somebody wearing a BLM necklace or a T-shirt is a racist mark towards whites people. Yet it’s deemed acceptable. Free speech. However this should be the case for this man. Free speech. No chance. Shut down immediately.

ideology is dangerous. Look at the Labour Party falling apart because of it. It’s just damaging.

No, not all over his face. Supposedly another user said it was three.

If you genuinely believe in free speech. You genuinely dislike discrimination, then why are you completely demonising this man.

It maybe the biggest mistake of his life. ?

plus the whole point of him being on said show was to show his woodwork skills. What does it matter what he has on his face. ?

If someone openly makes reference or behaves in a derogatory way, fine. They deserve it. But he was pleasant, and just participating in a show.

He had a chance to explain himself. He instead chose to lie and say his dad died.

I believe we should all be entitled to free speech, but no one has a right to a platform or an audience. Sky haven't done this for any ideology beyond avoiding backlash hitting advert sales.

I've seen interviews with lots of ordinary, decent folk who were part of the BLM movement.

I've yet to see a decent nazi or nazi sympathiser.

To clarify, if you choose to have 3 racist tattoos on your face, being accused of being a racist is labelling and is bad.

To be a racist and label all people of a different race as bad is good?

Certainly a very strange thing to have done to ones self.

but just doing so, fundamentally doesn’t make you “a racist”. As people are adding to the thread we may see enough information to say ok, this guy is covering or behaving in a way that’s suspect. Giving people extra reason for concern.

My concern is the fact he has 3 tattoos and everyone is shouting racist.
you are galloping prior to learning to walk essentially.

Yes it does.

It's a conscious effort, 3 times, to have an explicitly racist symbol tattooed on a place most people dont have tattooed because it's so visible, and paying someone to do it.

Its hardly tripping over a dodgy paving stone on the scale of 'accident versus intent' scale.

Edit: and he lied about it after he was called out.

It could have been a good news story, at a stretch, if he had told his story about how he grew up and realised the error of his ways and that the tattoos are a way of reminding himself and others about that journey, but as has been said above, like most racists he's actually a pathetic little person who can't even admit to his own views, because he knows they're disgusting.

Can you think of a reason why a person is not racist would have 3 Nazi tattoos on his face?

If I write "I am homosexual" over my forehead are you going to argue the toss that I'm not?

He's aligning himself with an ideology that by definition is racist and you're asking for proof that he is? Sorry, but the onus is on you to prove to him, that he's not (It's his statement after all, not ours).

You want proof, he drew it on his face, take your deranged and misguided argument up with him

I've got a few football tattoos so that makes me a footballer then.

No, it makes you a supporter of the tattoos you've chosen.

For example, if I had a Tricky Tree, "NFFC" and "You Reds!" tattooed on my face, I would be advertising my support for Nottingham Forest at every opportunity.

Therefore, if you choose to have tattoos of racist organisations on your face, you're advertising your support for racists.

Given being a racist is one of the most most pathetic things a person could be, why would you advertise the fact if you weren't?

But what if you decided to change and support Derby county. Those Tattoo's would be meaningless.
