Hi there

I'm currently unable to access our sky account on-line to check this, but was wondering if someone could please tell me how much it would cost to upgrade one of our sky plus multiroom boxes to Sky HD please?

TIA :)

I work for sky funnily enough what kind of HD box is it your after as we've got the 1tb boxes aswell plus you need to keep in mind that its an extra tenner a month for your hd subscription.

I have just logged into Sky to check upgrade prices.

This is what options it gave me for replacing my standard box.

Also, the Sky HD subscription is £10 per box.

Well work your magic bevysters! :p

Theres a way round everything ;) order a sky+ box online and chances are you get a HD box because no new sky+ boxes are made anymore so its a cheaper way to get your 2nd hd box instead of paying full price. Plus it means your not tied to the HD subs on that box for a year.

With what the OP wants it would be easy enough to book but i would suggest maybe going for a 1tb box in as their main box and with that i would have thought whoever they spoke to would arrange a free install and roughly 6 months half price HD subs.

The TB box is a nice bit of kit. Its basically a HD slim with a massive drive. Its also not a 1TB box its a 1.5 because it uses half a gig for the anytime stuff and the system software etc. So you get 1tb for just recording which is pretty decent.

New stuff coming for them next year aswell. Apps and stuff like that so its a good time to upgrade.

That would be quality receiving a Sky+HD box when ordering a Sky+ box! With my luck though, that just wouldn't happen lol.

I have one of the first Thompson SkyHD boxes, and its on its way out. The common no satellite signal is being received error, although the dish is aligned correctly, no water ingress in coax etc. A restart of the box resolves this, and its apparently a power supply problem.

I definatley want to get one of those 1TB boxes though! :D

If its booked as multiroom then you would get a free install and a free service call on your old thompson box if its all booked right.

As far as the sky+ thing goes. Its more than likely you would get a HD box because we keep the sky+ boxes for accessability customers because the old software and menu makes life a lot easier for them.

Not a problem. If its something your entitled to then why the hell not i bet your paying a fair bit allready so why not enjoy it :p

If you go to order and you get something not nearly as good as what ive mentioned make sure you get back to me.

Iv'e no issues helping out anyone on here with sky stuff just aslong as no one expects me to be able to pull magic offers out my backside.

eeeee, I didn't know there were all these options :s It would be just my bedroom standard sky plus box that would be replaced, not the other 2, Id just like the same box basically but HD if that makes sense...We haven't been offered a free replacement, but am I right by saying from what I've read you get your first HD box free? So therefore I'd just be paying for installation and the £10 a month subscription?

Pretty much yeah or if your wanting to move your current box to another room you would probably get a free install if its done right. All depends on your situation though as to whether your the account holder or not and whether anyone else in the house is after hd.

My main concern if im being honest is that you call sales and they dont totally get you what your after.

Mostly because im usually the poor sod that has to clean up their mess a few weeks down the line.
