Sky+ & HDD Recorder question

hey peeps

i'm considering getting the sky+/broadband/phone package but was wondering if i get sky+, is there any point keeping my pioneer 440H hdd/dvd recorder? i only use it for its hdd and occasionally divxs (but i can get a standalone divx player if need be)

also, is it worth going HD for an extra 200 quid and 10 quid a month or are people generally not bothering yet?

Probarly worth going HD, altough only about 10 channels atm. Supposidly going to be more near xmas though.

Also it seems to upscae standerd def channels nicly. HD boxes seem built better too, sky+ boxes are always going wrong, and they look better

I wouldn't bother with it anymore if you only use it for the hdd and not dvd writing.

right... went with sky+ cuz it only cost £49 and then when HD really takes of i can upgrade my my finances are a bit better

btw: is it possible to record from the sky+ box to the dvd recorder should on the off chance i want to back up something i've recorded for long term keeping?
