Hi,

We have sky+ HD. We have decided we want multiscreen so the missus can watch crappyoaks and other such tripe when I don't want to. Looking on their site it's another £20/month and £60 set up fee (I assume this is the cost of wiring another box in upstairs?). The cost of a new sky HD box in this "deal" is £199. I have seen people selling their boxes on ebay for a fraction of this.

Is there a problem with buying one of these 2nd hand boxes and then taking out the upgrade to save me £199 box cost?

Are there any other cost cutting measures I can take? I presume I can phone sky and haggle this multiscreen subscription price.

Cheers

Give them a ring and ask if they have any offers, I ordered multiroom the other day and got a free sky box and free installation and it's £11 odd a month extra.

In the past I have bougt my own box, fitted my own quad-LNB and wired it up, and jsut asked Sky for another viewing card, had no issues.

Yes you can buy and wire up a box yourself but you can get a Sky+HD box and free install at the moment. Any issues send me a trust message and I will sort you out.

I've got a SkyHD+ box sat in a box next to me doing nothing since cancelling sky a few months ago, didn't realise you could sell these on ebay.

Ok well you should still be able to get a free Sky+HD box and free install if it is your first Multiscreen box.

Since when is that deal applicable for 1st multiscreen customers already having a HD+ box?

They should be able to get a free install, free standard HD box for free with the monthly cost of £11.25 a month max.
