Sky ramp up prices, again

Thanks. Can you get BT classic entertainment without their broadband? I selected it but then it goes on to choose broadband. I already have fibre which is cheaper and way faster than any of the BT offerings

Sadly not - they are all locked to their broadband packages

Well yeh, wages cannot go up year on year if you don't have a job currently :D
Good luck hunting

I'm tired of working at the moment :) enjoying my time off tax free paid by the working. 25 years I paid in. Needed a rest. It's why I'm on the forums constantly. lol I been looking every month though and there's some absolute poop jobs turn up online and job adverts that don't even tell you what your duties will be. Fun and games.

I will never go with a company that rise prices. Any company that does this I avoid. They are out there.

I thought the quality of Now TV was shocking, even after adding on the £3 a month boost add-on for HD

We now have SkyQ, and whilst the quality is really good, I don't like the overall system. It's very hit and miss. The SkyQ mini box doesn't always work, and then it magically does....same with the ios app. You launch it and it says "something went wrong".....then you try again and it works.

I sure hope nobody from Sky reads this thread otherwise they will implement the sound and colour as optional extras.
And yes it is ridiculous that they still charge extra for HD.

I got rid of Sky a couple of months ago. We only watched the main channels so Now TV has been fine as a replacement.

I’m paying with Tesco vouchers so you get £3 of Now TV subscription for £1 of voucher.

For the next 4 months I’ve got Entertainment, Movies and the HD option for £9.99/month or £3.33/month with the Tesco vouchers.

My Sky TV package has been £27

Sky Entertainment £22.00
Sky HD £5.00

I checked my bank account and £34.20 has automatically been taken.

Logging into my Sky account I can see the price have changed

Sky Entertainment £28.20
Sky HD £6

I did not agree to this, surely they cannot just up the monthly prices £7.20 without telling you?! That's a 27% increase on their basic TV package

Is there a similar freeview or other service that offers channels like Comedy central? Virgin Media is not available in my area.
I'm tempted to cancel as this sort of thing really annoys me
It a joke they still charge extra for HD and there HD not even 1080p :mad:..Can you even still buy an SD TV these days

Do they charge even more for 4K ?

You don’t have to pay for it, it can be removed at any time.
As to why it’s paid i’m not sure. Ny guess would be to pay for High def cameras used to film

I use NowTV, the entertainment with HD is 11.99. I took out the cinema option for a tenner for 3 months, they emailed me to tell me they'll extend it for £1 a month for 6 months, the sport I bought a "season deal" which was the full ten months of the premiership campaign for £200 up front. This has continued to roll on for free until the season ends. I don't like the inconvenience of not being able to record or start a show from the beginning once it's started but for the money it's very good.

I also have BT TV, just because I already have their broadband, for an extra £15 I get the TV and sports package. I could get NowTV (with recording options etc) through BT now but don't want to be stuck with a two year contract. I only ever really watch UFC and the champions league, the rest you can get through NowTV or Freeview.

If the recording thing isn't an issue for you then go NowTV, it'll be less than half price with no contract, just be aware it's a bit "market jeans" compared to full fat Sky.

I really don't agree why people should have to pay extra for quality, even if it's HD or UHD. It's like laptops or games console. They get better and more powerful, but usually priced the same as last years model.

It just feels wrong to me. Like recording, you shouldn't have to pay (even by stealth) to use it. Yes, pay for the right equipment but not to be charged a subscription for its use. Multiroom is another one.

Wish I could get sky just to post that I dumped them,bb round here is around 2mb/s no fibre upgrades from the adsl lines so sky won’t instal, and not paying virgin and sky so stuck with virgin bb only
