I'm thinking about getting a basic £15 Sky subscription for my room as I don't have a decent aerial for freeview......

Now, do I need a tv card (to connect to the sky box) for this? Or would my x1900 VIVO suffice?

 Hi,

Im not 2 sure about your setup, but I used a cheap pci tv card and ran a cable from my sky box second ant/out (RF2) and then tuned the card in and it work fine. :D If you are wanting 2 use sky on your pc in a different room 2 your didgi box then you can use the sky tv link kit, however you still need to feed the cable from sky box 2 pc.

Dont use a transmitter kit as it seems 2 mess the signals up after abit.

Hope this helps abit, any probs just let me know ;)

Well, as sad as it is I'm getting Sky just for my room... so the box will be next to me.

It is either new aerial + freeview pci card, or card + Sky.

Not sure which'll be best.

My monitor takes composite in and I have an extra L/R phono input on my speakers so I can use a scart -> phono to plug it all up to watch without pc booted. Then I can run the rf to the pci card and tune that in to watch when pc is on...

That sound right?

 Hi,

If you are having sky box in the same room then that will make things a whole lot more easy, just link the sky box 2 your tv pci card and then tune it in, once you have done that the tv card should pick it up as a normal tv channel and that should be the end of the install side of things. :)

Then all you need 2 do is sit back and enjoy. ;)

All he needs is to plugin the sky box via composite if I understand vivo correctly.
