Hi All

My Sky is up for renewal and was wondering if anyone had gotten any good deals out of them lately.
Not sure what to hold out for really.
Currently have a 35% off deal on my acc and pay £49 a month for the full sky tv but my bt internet has now lappsed from contract and is £44 for line rental unlimited calls and unlimited broadband.

Sky have offered my unlimited broadband and evening calls and line rental and my full tv package for £66 for 10 months (the broadband for a year).
Shall i hold out for better and go through retentions?
I have told them to cancel but will see what and if they offer anything else.
They where offering the complete TV bundle 2 weeks ago to new customers for £25.

They are also offering a free 32" Samsung TV or Sonos Play 1 speaker at the moment for new customers.

Any tips will be appreciated.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Thanks

Welcome to the stupid world of SKY renewals where they will do everything in their power to make you cancel! I have no idea why they are so keen to get new customers yet show little to no interest in keeping existing ones!

I have been with them for 8 years for TV and even asked about moving all my phone , tv and internet services to them and they offered £66.
I must have the original HD box still as i had to get a connector box for on demand lol.
New customers can even get the 2tb box for free or a free 2nd box when theytake multi room whereas i was quoted £199 for it.
I have seen in another thread that somone got the same package as what i was quoted but for £49 so i think i will hold out.
I dont mind paying for what i think is a fair price.
Just had the same problem with Amazon Prime now £59 for new customers after i have renewed last month at £79.
I asked if they would match it or could i cancel the service and get a refund and pay for what i have used since the renewal.
Got an email today saying they had cancelled Prime but no mention of any of the cost or refund etc so emailed them back complaining about the lack of information that i requested in the 1st place and they said a full refund had been issued for the £79 and apologised and sent me the link to renew at £59

Cancel sky and then when you log into your online account after a few days you get a 50% off any package offer to stay with Sky for 12 months. Also got the same through the post. I think I only have a couple of weeks left now till it ceases and they are hounded me on my mobile. Not spoken to anyone yet to find out what they want.

I just phone to check my cancelation was going through as its due to end 10th August and the lady offered me the same deal as above but without any calls for £55 or £59 with evening and weekends which would be ok as I don't use landline really just my wife when she calls her family lol.
She said she couldn't do anything about my sky box until the contract is up. Id want a new box as mine is 4 years old now and has the on demand box :)

I cancelled mine last month, they offered us 60% off to go back. Used the online chat thing so had everything in writing, set it up, great.

2 weeks later have a payment leave my account, was almost twice as much as we agreed. Phoned them up for a moan, was told the chat agent had got it wrong, and they couldn't offer me that deal. Absolutely fuming, surely once a deal was offered and agreed, they can't change it? Cancelled it again!

Not sure what I'm going to do now, had Sky for the last 4 years...

the box thing is ridiculous I accept you shouldn't get a new one every year but when you've been a customer for 4 years and the technology has totally changed they should just give you one as soon as you ask.

If I returned as a new customer they would give me a new dish and box even though we have a perfectly good one of each still, there retentions policy is just odd to me.

The exact same thing happened to me. I posted up about it in the other Sky thread in here. The chat agent offered me a deal, and then when I checked my account a day later the price I was paying wasn't right, it was about £9 more per month. I complained, and eventually the lady on the phone spoke with a supervisor and they applied a £110 credit onto my account which made the deal the same as I was originally quoted. I saved everything in the chat log and I told them that it was saved. They didn't seem to want to do anything for me until I told them that I had records of the entire chat saved to my PC. That was when she spoke with a supervisor.

I think my Sky is now out of contract (I managed to get a new box from them last year). I'd bin them in an instant and switch to BT or Freeview as I don't really watch that much TV. But the wife does so I'm kinda stuck.
Plus. It would mean me being without internet for a while during the swap :(

Just checked my account and there is a 50% offer there on tv package but no mention of line rental calls and Internet which I was looking to move over.is it worth calling them or will that be the best they offer at 50% off tv .just don't want to waste my time lol

Cheers
