Sky verses anything else

Problem with BT TV is it uses your Internet connection for non-free view channels. Watch a sky channel, use some of your broadband. Sky is completely independent of BB speeds which is why its been so popular.

I had the same concerns especially coming from virgin 200meg but I've never had an issue with it. BT's fibre is arguably more stable than sky's.

Broadband was my main reason for going with BT and as I said the TV was a suprised of how good it is.

Plus I'm sure I read the sky was looking to going via the streaming route at some point... You have to admit that's the future.

The closest you can get to a Sky multi room setup is get an aerial installed, hook a Humax FVP-4000 up to it https://uk.humaxdigital.com/product/fvp-4000t/ and then H3 satellites in the other rooms. It’ll not be the cheapest but there’s no subscriptions and it is fairly feature rich.

If you’ve got a PC you can dedicate to a Plex server then I can highly recommend Plex with HDHomeRun. Then you just need something like a Firestick with the Plex app to watch live TV or record.

i cancelled my sky at the start of the year.

they have been offering me the full package for £15 a month then £1 for every add on apart from sports and movies.

now they are offering me the full package for £13 a month plus £1 for every add on apart from movies and sports which are around £23 for both.

What's the 'full package' if it doesn't include sports or movies? Surely the 'full package' is everything (except things like BT Sport).

Its not that bad and I do not see it as a problem. I can watch BT Sport 4k channel in lounge, my son can have same BT Sport HD Channel in Dining room, my son playing Fortnite and my wife web browsing all at same time. I find when my son watches Youtube via the Nowtv box that causes the broadband to crawl on its own ! (get around 63Mbps). The problems with BT at the moment are BT fibre and the cost (Its one of the most expensive) and you cant have Sky Sports if you have two boxes. Hopefully that will change later this year.
