Skyforge - Action MMORPG

wow issues in a closed beta.......who would have thought; are you bug reporting? usually what you do in a closed beta ;)

Wow smart arsed reply, how useful.

I've reported serveral bugs already.

That said awful voice acting won't change, poor graphics won't change and just the lack of any detail about whats going on won't change.

They may improve fps slightly from the 12-20 im getting now and they will likely fix some of the bugs.

All in all, no idea why i jumped in and bought it because you can tell straight away its low budget.

textures will usually change I've seen terrible stuff in betas only watch full textures to be released when they've oped the game. The voice acting; correct terrible is terrible; people have forgotten what closed betas are for with the ability to buy into them.

Sorry about coming off smart arsed; but I've seen so many bitch about closed betas; not report or do what they are supposed to do in a beta. Its to find bugs; report them and break the game...and report it...:D

thats what we used to say about everquest, before WoW came along.

Everything has its time

wow has been top for 10+ years EQ wasn't. wow changed all games over all platforms. Within a year of it's release everyone was after the golden goose raking in $$$$$

I didn't see EQ doing that. Like or hate wow it was the biggest game and generated the biggest shift in PC gaming and ultimately gaming on all platforms there's ever been.

The only reason WoW is the game to beat is due to the fact for the large part it was everyones first MMO. Discovering the genre for the first time etc. Nothing will ever beat the rose-tinted glasses view people have of WoW of old.

The only thing that will kill WoW is WoW itself.

Anyone else playing this? Open beta is out and release is this week.

Yep, although I have to admit my first impressions were that it was awful.

I've got to grips with the basics however there's so much stuff going on it does seem to have a lot of depth and will take some time to understand it all.

Working my way through the Atlas to unlock the Kinetic class and so far it's a decent MMo which strangly reminds me of Hellgate London even though it's nothing like it :p

I've done a couple videos on it; reminds me of City of Heroes way the missions are and you can do it with other people; textures were utterly crap until I turned the settings up and then told me I shouldn't run those settings LOL

Its still got a way to go; but is kinda like CoH/CoV; FF10s skill tree; Aion and with a dash of fantasy and sci-fi got thrown into a blender and hit blend......its interesting for sure......

Yea' the weekly cap is an interesting idea too, it stops people getting too far ahead and gives devs a chance to develop content :D

It is strangly addictive. I've managed to unlock the Kinetic and Necromancer and have the others from the founder pack. It's great that you can swap and change your class on the fly whenever and however many times you want with no cooldowns or penalty.

A refreshing approach to instances helps where I can choose to solo content or group whilst setting the difficulty accordingly. It can be repetitive but the content is decent and challenging enough to make it worth while.

Yea' I have a Knight fully unlocked and did an instance the other day, the tank was toilet so I changed from my zerker to Knight, he changed to DPS and we did it. Just so easy to chop and change. Apparently later levels there is a fair bit of money you can throw at the game or the grind is large. I'm at about 14.5k prestige at the moment, got the knight symbol and unlocking zerker fully next.

Paladin is my favourite atm, I've only got a few different instances I can see. Okki island, a pier/boat area, ruins and some factory.

I'm sitting around 5k prestige atm depending on gear and stuff.

My Cryomancer is probably the furthest along in terms of unlocks, but I'm an altaholic in MMo's and can never stick to one class ;p . Going to unlock the Archer next then probably pick a main which is easier said than done :p

If anyone is thinking of trying the game a small tip is to watch out for trash mobs (white) as they can hit the hardest, sometimes a hell of a lot more than an elite boss!
