Skylake Prices 'Leaked'

"The flagship SKU, Intel Core i7 6700K will retail for $313 which is actually pretty cheap, considering the previous flagship MSRPs of $339 USD and $377 USD for the Core i7-4790K and Core i7 5775C respectively"

4790K is £289.99
5775C is Broadwell around £295

prices will be affected by supply for a lot of ppl i think
thats if the rumors of low initial stock is true

i hope ppl are allowed to do reviews of the motherboards soon tho!

With a i5 4690k costing almost £200 there isn't even the slightest chance of them coming in that cheap. I expect the 6600k to be £220+.

You can't really do a $ to £ conversion hoping it'll be somewhat reflective. It'll be bleeding edge hardware, with an appropriately high price tag.

Yeh need to add Vat so that £240 plus shipping to UK extra plus the rip off britian

The vast majority of hardware in the UK is the same price as it is in the US, plus VAT.

The US price is also plus sales tax. This rip off Britain thing is not as prevalent as people make out, because 9 times out of 10 they're ignoring US sales tax as if it doesn't exist.

Good point spoffle, and some US states have pretty high taxes don't they?

I'm not sure whether to bother with a 6700k, might just wait for the new 6/8 cores instead.

The highest is about 10%, so there can be a difference but it's never that high. Plus sometimes, our UK price before VAT works out to be slightly less than the US price plus tax.

If you then factor in shipping charges and the way the rest of the US tax system works, plus income and the health care costs, the rip off Britain thing ceases to exist in nearly all circumstances except for some companies who don't follow the exchange rate and just swap the $ for £ on their prices. Fortunately, that's actually very few companies.;

Just to clarify I am not necessarily saying there is a rip off britian, the original poster did

All I was saying is vat brings it £240 plus shipping costs before the rip off Britian factor if it exists

My bad grammer

Sure, but US Sales tax brings their price up as well. I'm just highlighting that the US pricing that we all see doesn't ever actually include tax. Because of the way it works in the US everything is priced sans tax, then it's added on at the end when paying.
