i have 3 computers (two windows 10, one windows 8.1) all 3 don't have skype installed. but on my RT-AC87U router am noticing skype activity

i know this month so far it's around 2-3MB, but last month i was 40MB~.

i formatted the desktop computer thinking that'll solve it for the desktop computer but it hasn't...

done a full virus scan on all 3, using Windows Defender and then did another full virus scan using Kaspersky Total Security 2016, found nothing.

is this a Microsoft thing now?

My first instinct would be to not trust the Asus application inspection. It's probably matching endpoint addresses with a predefined list and deciding that means it's Skype - with the amount of cloud stuff built into Windows and Windows Phone now I would assume it's just categorizing this incorrectly.

+1 to Caged's post, that was my first thought!

Asus are likely categorising data incorrectly.

Stop worrying about it!
