Skyrim file save rant...

Grr, so i'm finally getting into Skyrim.

Just been playing it for a few hours after work and i'm at the part where I have to be part of the Thalmor Embassy. So i'm trying to escape and one rush of blood to the head where I try and leg it after i've been caught..

Now my game has saved this, this is my furthest point. So I spawn, die immediately as there are 2 people always waiting outside to kill me.

I check my previous game saves and the latest one is from yesterday where I am miles behind where I was. :rolleyes:

So I either play through allllllllllll of that again, kill another dragon etc etc or give up completely, fuming.

Anyone else had anything like this on Skyrim? I genuinely cannot be bothered to go through all that again and I was starting to enjoy it.

Yes, it's why I ended up saving more often to be honest!

go into god mode(press ` and type tgm) and skip that part

Yeah, the same kinda thing put a halt to my first playthrough. Ended up making a new save after like every step on my second character

I had some random ones which were miles behind what I had just done, whether they saved over each other I have no idea. Now just going to be quicksaving a lot.

Pain in the arse, either way the godmode enabling on console solved it.

I'm really confused, don't turn off autosave and you won't have this problem, if the last save before the one that got you ganked was way before the Embassy, you're doing something wrong. It should auto save when you enter the torture room, and before that when you exit the Courtyard shortly after infiltrating the place and then one when you retrieve your stashed gear.

I haven't turned off autosave. I basically ran through as far as I could then every save I could possibly go on I was dead immediately.

Then one save I accidentally saved over after loading a manual save. Problem solved now anyway.
