Sleek pump/res combo...?

What would be recommended for a sleek looking pump/res combo that is quiet and well priced? OCUK's options seem very limited. Not keen on the EK's, simply because they are a bit chunky looking for what I had in mind, even though I know they are good quality. The XSPC Photon's look OK, but I've heard are a pig to fill... plus seem costly and I'm not crazy about the light tub in the middle of the res. Really just want something very simple and elegant looking. Has anyone tried the Barrow D5 pump top/res combos? They seem very well priced (around £60-70), and look decent.

I don't know if there is any connection between Barrow and Bitspower but a lot of their stuff seems identical. I have a 100mm Barrow res and it's a nice bit of kit yet very cheap at £22. I also have the Photon 270mm and it was so bad to fill I ended up modding the damn thing. I took the disc out of the top so that it will fill easily and stuck one of these inside the res on the inlet so that it doesn't just sucke the air back through the outlet while filling/bleeding. Now it's modded it's fine though it's not something you should have to do to get it to work properly.

There is also the Monsoon MMRS systems which can take a D5 pump and you can basically make them look however you like. There is even a configurator here although some parts are out of stock at the moment.

The Aquacomputer aqualis D5 is designed to fit straight onto a D5 pump and is also a glass res.

I believe there is also a version of EK's Xres tube reservoirs with a D5 pump.

The Monsoon systems are OK... seem a bit expensive and I can't say I'm crazy about the styling. Primochill is interesting, although they're all funky colours and I was just looking for clear really. The Barrow combos seem amazing value really... £65 for pump and 210mm res from a well reviewed shop on the bay... nothing else seems to come close for that for price. Makes me wonder if something is wrong with them lol!

I got my Barrow res from the bay and there is nothing wrong with it. It's a good quality reservoir at a very fair price.

I wouldn't touch the Primochill CTR with a bargepole after reading of all the problems with leaks.

They come in clear and white frosted in all the sizes.

Apparently all those issues have been resolved with the Phase II models, so the leaks and acetal milling should be good now.

I'm not dropping cash on it just yet though :p Project Anesidora is planning on using the Phase II D5 model, but that's a while away.

Yeah they do seem excellent value all things considered, and certainly look pretty good also with loads of mix & match colour options. Not seeing many bad reports about them either. Kind of brings in to question why you'd spend twice as much for something that seems broadly similar.

New Alphacool range? The new Eisbaer or whatever they're called look nice is the all plexiglass finish.

I picked up the Alphacool Eisbecher VPP655 with 150mm res in the end. Looks very nice actually, impressed with the quality, and the included mounting brackets are really handy. Not up and running yet but certainly looks good. :)
